Nata in Carinzia, ha ricevuto la sua formazione musicale presso il Conservatorio della Carinzia con il Prof. Gustav Mayer e, successivamente alla Staatiche Hochschule für Musik di Colonia nella classe del Prof. Igor Ozim e in musica da camera del Prof. Günther Kehr.
1978 – 1989 Ozims ricercatore presso l’Accademia di Musica di Colonia.Dal 1989 è direttore di un corso di formazione musicale internazionale presso il Conservatorio della Carinzia.
Dal 1999, è direttore di un corso di formazione JJ Fux – Conservatorio di Graz. Tiene masterclass di violino e musica nel mondo, ed è giudicein vari concorsi internazionali.

Since 1999, he has been the director of a training course at JJ Fux – Conservatory of Graz. Helfried Fister performs as a soloist in several theaters and concert halls around the world with orche stras and as chamber musicians. He holds masterclasses of violin and music in the world, and is a judge in various international competitions.
